WASTE NOT WEDNESDAY

Wednesday, July 31, 2013
Well, let's try this again.
It is Wednesday correct? lol

Ok, I think I have shared this with you before but sometimes I feel like the universe is working with me while I'm thrift shoppping. lol

Like a few weeks ago, when I was about to purchase a booster seat for my 3 year old to use at the dinner table.

Several months ago she decided she was big enough for our dining room chairs and no longer required sitting in her highchair.  Which, meant more food on the floor than in her mouth.  I finally had enough sweeping and wiping rice and miscellaneous food bits off the floor, and so the idea of a booster seat came to mind.

But then, the same day I went to Salvation Army and found this!

Yep, cute little beat up chair just like I like em.

Didn't even have to paint it.

Its goes quite nicely with my decor.

I did however have to scrub some kind of spaghetti sauce and some random stickers off of it.  But, for $7.99 it does the job and its a bit more aesthetically pleasing to me then the booster seat:)

Simple pleasures:)

If there was Pinterest 10 year ago....

Friday, July 26, 2013
I saw this funny ecard on Pinterest last week.

haha.  This makes me laugh.  So true.  Oh the ideas I could have come up with..... But with all honesty, I actually got married in Hawaii so there weren't very many details besides the dress and reservations for dinner:)  And it was lovely and perfect in its simpleness.

But, I always enjoy a "real" wedding.  Who doesn't like to get all fancied up, have a buffet dinner, dance, perhaps a few cocktails and of course admire all the decorations and details that the bride and groom  chose for their special day?

So last weekend, I got the pleasure of attending of this wedding and it was just my type:)

Please forgive the photo quality as they were taken on my phone.

It was at a farm and the reception was held in this yummy red barn.

Burlap table runners, wood benches,

mason jar mugs,

chandeliers...

white washed wood pallets, haystacks,

white lights,

flip flops for those guests who's high heels were killing them!,

and even rocking chairs! lol

There were many more details that I did not get a chance to take pictures of. Including the bridesmaids cowboy boots and wine barrel speech podium.

A job well done and a great night!
Congrats to this lovely couple:)

French Provincial Bedframe and Accent Table

Wednesday, July 24, 2013
SOLD

I mentioned yesterday on my facebook page, that I would be posting a double bed frame that I had just completed.  Well, this is not it, as my 8 year old called dibs on that frame:)  But, I do have this gorgeous french provincial set that needs a new home!

It has been painted with ASCP Pure White, slightly distressed and finished with a clear wax.  I love the curvy lines on this headboard and footboard.

This accent table measures 14"d x 25"h x 21"w.

The bedframe includes the metal side rails.  (not shown in pictures)

WASTE NOT WEDNESDAY

Tuesday, July 23, 2013
Welcome to my first "Waste Not Wednesday!!"

What is this you ask?

I answer.

"Every Wednesday I'm going to post something that I have either thrifted, upcycled, whatever you want to call it.  Or share ideas in regards to vintage decor, diy, furniture ideas etc."

So here we go!

One of the best things about being a junk lover, is people like to pass their junk on to you:)

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine brought this wicked, (yes I just said wicked) rocking chair over for me.  She had a garage sale a few weeks prior, her MIL brought it over and no one bought it.

Can you believe it?!  It was marked for a whopping $10 and no one bought it!

So, lucky, lucky me:)

I didn't do a thing to it.  I've been wanting two chairs for my front room for the longest time but always pictured them matching. But, I'm loving this at the moment!

And so does someone else:)

And she's also wearing a thrift find dress:)

AT THE END OF MY FINGERTIPS

Friday, July 5, 2013
SOLD

Here is is the moment you've all been waiting for.... Drum roll please.... lol.

Holy moly, I posted this picture last week on my facebook page and wozers there were a lot of comments on this fabulous color!

And I still have no idea why it keeps flipping sideways?

Anyone notice the shocking similarity between this desk and my phone? lol

After a long break and or brief hiatus I finally started working again last week.  On the list of many bits and pieces was this super yummy desk for a client's daughter.

Her daughter picked the color and I immediately fell in love with my first few brush strokes.

I almost felt like I was inside a swimming pool when I was painting under this piece:)

It's refreshing to be back doing what I love and to start with something new and fresh.

Thank you for the inspiration Ava:)  I'm not sure you follow my blog because you are only 7. lol

Funny, this inspiration has been at the end of my finger tips for months, but has just finally came to be!

White Shabby Chic Coffee Table

SOLD

I'm finally back at work and I have to say,
"The break was needed, but it also made me realize how much work is needed."

I bought this piece originally for my home.  I was going to convert it into a bench for our living room but plans changed and I ended up with an old trunk there.

It has been painted white with ASCP, distressed and finished with a clear wax.

There is a large drawer in the center, great for hiding...

It measures 20" d x 16' h x 58" w.
